Last week was Little Flowers and this Saturday is the Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet. Yours truly will be insane by the end of it all.

This weekend was busy. Saturday we went snow-tubing up on Mt. Hood. We haven't actually taken the children sledding for a long time. Maybe five years. The boys have gone with scouts, but the rest of us haven't gone. I mentioned to my dad that we were planning on going and he bought us two new inner-tubes. I have the best dad. The kiddos had a fantastic time. We drove up early which gave us good parking and plenty of time sledding down the hill before it got busy. Then we set up the camp stove and had some hot chocolate and some beef-a-roni from can.

This Saturday we will be making our Advent Wreath for the year.
Above is the wreath we made for 2008. Each year they are a little different, but mostly the same. I try to pick up the supplies for them just after Chrsitmas when the picks and ribbons are on discount at the craft store.
If I have my act together I will post instructions for making it this year.

I have "reopened" my blog after more or less a year gone by without much or any new content. I find that things have turned a corner. I have learned a lot the past couple years. Funny where life leads you while you are busy dealing with the two inches in front of your nose. There is a bunch of new things I want to say, some things I have thought through better and some new ideas.

While I am in the middle of this blog move you might notice about a zillion broken links. I will be repairing these over the next few weeks.
If you are looking for an older page that isn't here try changeing simplycatholic.net to simplycatholic.wordpress.com in the location bar. This will probably get you where you want to be.

Today was the fall "Culling the Clothing" where we go through the children's clothing and get rid of anything that doesn't fit, is in poor condition or is just not worn. It is always a surprise to me to see how much clutter gets built up in the drawers between the cullings - which we do roughly three times a year. This is just the touch up. In January we will do an inventory and figure out what the children actually need.
